Police Lieutenant -Programming, Community Services and Investigations Gannon University, a Catholic University, seeks to fill the position of a Police Lieutenant, with emphasis on developing and presenting campus safety programming, crime prevention training, crime analysis and strategic planning. The successful candidate will plan, develop, present and manage Campus Safety Programming, Community Services and Investigations for the Office of Campus Police and Safety and will serve as the Campus S.A.F.E. Coordinator. This position will serve as third in command and must be able to provide vision, direction and progressive innovation to the Campus Community Safety and Prevention effort. Requirements include the following: a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in Public/Business Administration, Administrative Science, Management, Criminal Justice or a related field; knowledge of Commonwealth laws and rules, motor vehicle operations, and personal conduct for students, employees and visitors, and/or modern police practices; a minimum of five-to-seven years of experience including three years of administrative, supervisory or investigative responsibility equivalent to a Sergeant or above, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. Must have an awareness of gender/race sensitivities and have the ability to communicate effectively to individuals and groups. A valid drivers’ license and PA Act 120 Certification or equivalent from another state with the ability to be PA Title Act 120 certified are required. Must be able to support and promote the University’s Mission.
