? ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:? Provides administrative support to the Sheriff, Chief Deputy, staff and members of the Wichita CountySheriff?s Office.? Coordinates, manages, and oversees the Sheriff?s and Chief Deputy?s appointments and calendars.? Coordinates and helps manage the Wichita County Sheriff?s Office training schedules.? Gathers information for budget analysis and budget planning.? Assists with the preparation and administration of the budget and grants related to the Wichita CountySheriff?s Office.? Researches, locates, and makes proper requests for locating vendors, solicits bids and prepares paperworkfor supplies and equipment purchased and used by the Wichita County Sheriff?s Office.? Composes and prepares appropriate correspondence including routine letters, memos, notes and meetingminutes.? Researches and coordinates travel arrangements and prepares in-state and out-of-state travel requests forthe Sheriff, Chief Deputy, and training to include reimbursement requests for personnel, as assigned.? Makes reservations and coordinates travel accommodations for meetings and training.? Provides telephone support, takes messages, makes copies, and compiles training materials and manuals.? Must be at least 18 years of age.? Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.? Must have a valid Texas Drivers? License.? Some college, business training and/or related work experience is preferred, but not required.? Must be able to demonstrate computer proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications to include Word,Excel and Outlook.? Must have word processing and spreadsheet skills? Must be capable of learning how to proficiently operate the mainframe computer systems used in the WichitaCounty Sheriff?s Office.? Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to manage a fast-paced office environment and establishpriorities while providing support to the Sheriff and Chief Deputy.? Must have excellent interpersonal skills to interface with various organizations and departments, bothinternally and externally.?
