Job Description
JLL has a great opportunity to join our Office Property Management team in downtown Denver.
The Assistant Chief Engineer oversees maintenance and repair operations for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems. This role requires hands-on expertise, leadership, and the ability to troubleshoot issues while ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. This position is for a property located in downtown Denver with over 500,000 square feet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Lead and train team members in system operations, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Assist Chief Engineer with other duties as assigned.
- Utilize ETH/ETS for work order management and timely task completion.
- Monitor BAS systems, respond to alarms, and troubleshoot issues.
- Conduct inspections and maintenance of building infrastructure, including lighting, plumbing fixtures, and safety systems.
- Support operations and engineering leadership, ensuring compliance with service agreements and performance metrics.
- Maintain records, safety logs, and compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
- Provide excellent customer service while minimizing disruptions to tenants.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting skills in commercial buildings.
- Proficiency with work order systems, Microsoft Office, and mobile devices.
- Ability to work independently and on a team.
- Provide guidance and support to other members of the team and JLL.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies within 45 minutes and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Refrigeration Operator Certification is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Work in various conditions, including outdoors and mechanical rooms.
- Climb ladders up to 30 feet and perform physical tasks such as kneeling, crawling, and standing for long periods.
