The primary purpose of this position is to provide protection, law enforcement, and security services to Healthcare System patients, visitors and staff. Company Police Officers in this position investigate criminal acts on hospital grounds, protect life and property, patrol hospital buildings and grounds and prevent theft and vandalism.

Education: B.L.E.T. (Basic Law Enforcement Training)

Compensation: $33.50/per hour

Schedule/Term: Full Time

Responsibilities

Requirements:

Must possess current NC B.L.E.T. (Basic Law Enforcement Training)

  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the

position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had

a similar position for up to 1-2 years.

  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of North

Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

  • Ability to meet current requirements set forth by the North Carolina Training and Standards

Commission.

  • Candidates must provide documentation of (B.L.E.T.) certificate.
  • Must submit to and be able to successfully pass background, physical, psychological, and drug

screening.

  • No felony convictions. No serious misdemeanor convictions in the last 5 years.
  • No Domestic Violence convictions.
  • No DUI, DWI convictions in the last 5 years.
  • Successfully complete all Tarian required onboarding training.
  • Successfully complete all Tarian required firearms training.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

As a Police Officer for Tarian, you will conduct the following responsibilities upholding Tarian’s commitment to safety and security while supporting the values and culture of the client and community.

  • Answers all calls for services.
  • Responds appropriately to critical situations; applies proper healthcare and police procedures.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, as needed, in a support staff role while dealing with patient

intervention.

  • Investigate crimes and motor vehicle accidents on all site property.
  • Prepares incident, accident, and arrest reports.
  • Contact victims and conduct interviews, investigations, and interrogations in compiling

criminal cases.

  • Processes crime scenes to include but not limited obtaining photographs and collection of

evidence.

  • Serves arrest warrants and criminal summons.
  • Processes prisoners; takes fingerprints and photographs.
  • Conducts follow-up investigations on case assignments. Prepares written reports of cases assigned.
  • Serves subpoenas.
  • Works traffic details, as needed or requested
  • Searches for suspects, witnesses, missing persons and lost property; makes arrests for criminal violations.
  • Presents evidence and testimony in court hearings of prepared cases.
  • Writes, execute, and serve search warrants, if needed.
  • Inventories Tasers, cameras, and other Tarian equipment.
  • Ability to work any shift to meet the needs of the specific site.
  • Partners with internal and external stakeholders to meet site needs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Chief of Police or their designee.com
