School Resource Officer

The Village of Annawan would like to announce the opening for the position of School Resource Officer. The Village and the Annawan School District are partnering to make the position possible.

The Village of Annawan consists of approximately 900 residents. The village is centrally located on I-80 at exit 33. The Village of Annawan enjoys a safe community with a low crime rate.

The Annawan School District 226 is a small school district offering education for the ages of pre-K through Grade 12. The Annawan School District serves the area in and around Annawan as well as the communities of Mineral and Hooppole.

The School Resource Officer position will be the second fulltime Police Officer Position with the Chief being the other fulltime position. The position would be a perfect fit for an officer looking for a retirement job or wanting a slower paced law enforcement position with a more stable work schedule. The School Resource Officer will have a Monday-Friday day shift schedule with recognized village holidays off during the year. When the school is not in session, the School Resource Officer will assist the chief with investigations and filling the gaps in the schedule which may include weekends and evenings. However, due to being a smaller law enforcement agency the village is able to provide a flexible work schedule.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a fulltime police officer

- Certified Police Officer by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board or

through another state with the ability to obtain law enforcement certification by ILETSB

- Investigation experience requested but not required

- Strong Communication skills

- Strong reading and writing skills

Starting Salary: $58,000.00
