The City of Rochester now welcomes applications for

Police Officers

Both new and lateral officer applications encouraged.

New officers are individuals with no or limited policing experience. They may be eligible to be licensed under the rules of MN POST at the time of application having completed all requirements OR they may be scheduled to complete their MN POST requirements prior to June 25, 2026.

Lateral officers are currently employed as police officers, sheriff's deputies, or state troopers in Minnesota or another state. They have enough experience to begin as RPD officers and complete an expedited training program. Their salary will be based on their individual experience, job knowledge, and level of skill.
