Chief of Police FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: City Administrator Salary: DOE Benefits: Health/Vision/Dental paid by employer (employee only), Vacation and Sick Pay, TMRS contribution from employer
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED; Associates or greater in criminal justice or related field preferred
Master Peace Officer Certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Responsible for preparing and adhering to annual budget for approval by council
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software preferred
Prepare reports for and attend monthly city council meetings
Background check, medical clearance, and drug testing required
Valid Drivers License & a clean driving record a must

* Strategic planning, policy development, and fiscal management abilities
* Experience with community policing, crisis management, and de-escalation strategies

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Office and field environments; must be available for irregular hours, nights, weekends, and emergency call-outs.
May require attendance at public events, hearings, and extended incident responses.
