Certified Police Officer Job Type: Full Time Groton, CT Norwich Police Department Salary: $76,833.49 - $93,847.41 Closing Date: Jun 30, 2026 Position Summary: Under direction of a superior officer, protects lives and property of citizens. Provides services to the Public and maintains the peace, protects the rights of persons and property, and enforces all laws and ordinances coming under the jurisdiction of the Police Department. Under normal conditions, interacts with the public in a congenial and positive manner. Requirements: P.O.S.T. CERTIFICATION: A valid State of Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council - Police Officer (P.O.S.T.) Certification, which must be current at the time of appointment. A COPY OF THE CERTIFICATION MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH THE APPLICATION. DRIVER'S LICENSE: A valid driver's license is required. A COPY OF THE LICENSE MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH THE APPLICATION. AGILITY TEST: Must pass a physical agility performance test administered by this department or present a valid CHIP card. PHYSICAL CONDITION: Must pass a thorough medical examination. RESIDENCY: All city employees must become a resident of Connecticut within one year from date of appointment and reside within a sixty (60) mile radius of Norwich.
