Job Description

The Senior Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field operations and managing the day-to-day activities on industrial construction projects. This role ensures that mechanical scopes-including piping, HVAC, plumbing, and process systems-are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage field crews and subcontractors performing mechanical work.
• Coordinate with general contractors, other trades, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow.
• Monitor project progress and adjust schedules and manpower as needed.
• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal codes and standards.
• Review mechanical drawings and specifications to ensure proper installation.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Resolve field issues and discrepancies promptly.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules.
• Coordinate material deliveries and equipment needs.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients.
• Supervise and mentor foremen and field personnel.
• Evaluate performance and provide feedback.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven track record managing industrial projects, such as manufacturing plants, refineries, power generation.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including piping, HVAC, and plumbing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Proficiency in construction management software and scheduling tools.

Work Environment

Primarily field-based at industrial job sites. May require travel depending on project location. Exposure to varying weather conditions and construction environments.

This is a Permanent position based out of Apex, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
