Job Duties Ohio Department of Public Safety - Office of Vehicle Services/Dealer Licensing Report in Location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43223 Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. ***THIS POSITION REPORTS INTO THE OFFICE 5 DAYS A WEEK*** ***This position is open to current Ohio Department of Public Safety employees only. What You'll Do as an Administrative Officer 1 Act as Assistant Chief of the Dealer Licensing Section (DLS), within the (BMV) Bureau of Motor Vehicles in order to plan, direct, & coordinate all activities within the unit; Oversee & respond to programmatic, technical, & administrative issues within the section; Establish priorities & supervise personnel (e.g., provide developmental opportunities; Coach staff to foster development; Evaluate performance & prepare performance reviews; Approve section staffing levels; Conduct interviews; Recommend discipline; Approve leave requests; Assign work; Monitor production & confidentiality of classified information); Oversee & monitor special projects & task forces; Formulate & implement program policies & procedures aligned with BMV goals & objectives; Serve as liaison between the Chief, subordinates, state & local officials, & law enforcement agencies; Transmit decisions, directives, BMV policy changes, & legislative changes as they occur.
