Correctional Lieutenant

Effective July 1, 2025 in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 06 , and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by three percent and will receive five PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027 . Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Under the direction of the Correctional Captain (Adult Institution) and indirect report to the Correctional Administrator, Field Operations, the Correctional Lieutenant will assist with the auditing of the Health Care Access Units (HCAU) at each of the 31 adult institutions within CDCR. The incumbent is part of a critical response team for institutions and will Independently perform the more complex analytical work in evaluating, monitoring, and maintaining institution compliance with various federal court mandates, federal and State regulations, and departmental policies and procedures. The Correctional Lieutenant requires the ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and exercise good judgment. Up to 40% travel is required.

This position is located in Field Operations/Security Operations, Corrections Services. The Corrections Services programs provide vital services that ensure CCHCS continued compliance, health care access, and safety throughout all 31 institutions.
